Behold the Time V - Time to Transcend

Oil on linen and Oil on plexiglas, 100 x 81cm.

Behold the Time explores the existence of time in relation to accepted physical conventions, particularly Einstein’s theory of relativity. The concept of the speed of light is depicted on canvas, creating imaginary spaces that highlight the intimate connection between time and light, presenting the latter as a supreme element.

The use of plexiglas as a second medium adds a «non-space» dimension, where moving lines cast shadows on the illuminated canvas, emphasizing the paradox of representing shadows within light.

This interplay symbolizes the complexity of time representation, as an ascending object illustrates time dilation: a moving clock ticks slower than one at rest, according to relativity.

The piece challenges conventions by merging light, time, and space, inviting reflection on the abstract and fleeting nature of time.
